Letter of Intrduction

I have created this website to support my job search and make it easier to share information.

In May, 2014 I will graduate from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire.  My goal is to find a professional position that will benefit from my knowledge and experience.  I have a degree in Marketing, and my minors in Political Science and English.

My marketing major provided me with solid foundation in business strategy and planning.  My classes taught me how to consider business activities through the eyes of the customer, with a focus on delivering customer value and quality.  Through my Political Science courses I learned how to analyze and consider political, cultural and social factors that impact organizations and our global economy. Through my English classes I became a strong writer and editor, and classes like Technical Communication specifically improved my business writing.

These academic experiences, along with my 8 years of work experience in restaurants and hotels in a busy summer resort town prepared me, I believe, to be a valuable contributor to an employer.

Please feel free to forward the link to this site to anyone you know who may be looking for a newly minted college graduate with strong writing skills, a foundation in marketing, and a willingness to learn, work hard and improve through new experiences.

Thank you for your support & assistance.

TIPS:  This opening page of your blog should be written in your voice.  Write it just as if you were speaking to the potential employer.  You want the person who reads this introduction of you to 'hear' the same person in their head when they read, and they will hear  when they meet you face-to-face.  In other words, don't use words that are not part of your daily vocabulary.  Don't try to sound more 'corporate' than you really are.  On this other hand, this is still a professional presentation of self; too casual or informal is not good either.
